Friends In Deed: Supporting Students, Helping the Community

This campaign ended on June 30, 2020, but you can still make a gift to Sidwell Friends School by clicking here!

Like so many of us, Sidwell Friends students recognized their neighbors’ needs at this time of crisis and asked, “how can I help others while practicing social distancing?”

United by their shared commitments to service and community, and with the guidance of the School’s Center for Ethical Leadership, Sidwell Friends students have put their resources, time, and ingenuity to work. Sophia ’25 leads a network of volunteers to sew face masks for medical centers around the DC area. Gabi '25 creates soap care packages  for essential workers and short-term housing facilities like The Brooks and homeless shelters like the Sasha Bruce House. Their efforts are so crucial that medical professionals and shelters are contacting the School to request additional resources.

These and other Sidwell Friends students have moved quickly to develop solutions to critical challenges during this pandemic. Now, they urgently need your support to continue their service.

You and other community members can outfit these students with the supplies needed to continue these service projects for the next three months. Through your generosity, you will join students in helping medical providers when they need it the most and giving them “a daily dose of happiness.”

Please give today and ensure Sidwell Friends students can continue these services to local communities.
