Sewanee Class of 2018 Senior Gift

This campaign ended on July 01, 2018, but you can still make a gift to Sewanee-The University of the South by clicking here!

What is the Senior Gift?

The Senior Gift is a yearly tradition at Sewanee that does not go towards something tangible. Rather, this gift goes towards scholarships, internships, the general fund, athletics, or countless other designations that are important to you and the University. For generations, students have come together to support the Senior Gift.

Why give?

Do you love Sewanee and the experiences it has provided you? Were you offered financial aid or a scholarship? Do you enjoy the great faculty and staff at Sewanee? You could go on and on with questions like this, and I bet you would say 'yes' to many of them. Truth is, these things would not be possible without the support of generous alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and student donors. Only two-thirds of the University's budget comes from your tuition and fees. Without support, Sewanee would be forced to pull from its endowment and increase the cost of attendance in order to keep up.

Generous alumni have challenged you!

Members of the Alumni Executive Board have challenged you to make your gift and meet your goal! The first $2,500 donated by your class will be matched $1 for $1, and when you reach your goal of 70% participation, every gift made beyond that point will be matched $2 for $1. Additionally, a third challenge has been added; any recurring gift made for 4 years will be matched $1 for $1!

Will my gift make a difference?

Without a doubt, your participation and gift say far more than anything else you can do to show your commitment to Sewanee — well, short of a ‘Sewanee’ tattoo, this is the best way to show support for Sewanee, and with your gift being double by an alumni, you're making an even greater impact!  The more alumni that give to Sewanee, the better Sewanee looks to foundations and other grant-awarding organizations, as well as national college ranking entities, which increases the value of your degree.
