Student Emergency Relief Campaign by SAIC

As the COVID-19 pandemic drastically impacts our world, countries, and communities, we at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) know that many of our students are facing immediate hardships. Numerous student artists, designers, and scholars are suddenly faced with financial constraints, travel restrictions, food scarcity, loss of income, and uncertainty about their access to distance learning technology.
In response to the rapid effects of the global pandemic on our community, the Student Emergency Relief Campaign by SAIC will provide financial assistance and access to essential resources for SAIC students facing the fallout of this crisis.
The campaign’s initial goal of $100,000 will subsidize urgent student needs including transportation, housing, and access to reliable food sources. Funds raised will also help the School provide resources necessary for students to transition to remote education as seamlessly as possible. We are acutely aware that the burden of the novel coronavirus on our community will continue to develop in the days, weeks, and months ahead, and will continue to respond to students' emerging needs* with the help of this campaign.
We are committed to ensuring our students’ essential needs and continued learning. Please help us support SAIC students through this challenging time with a donation to the Student Emergency Relief Campaign.
*UPDATE:
The scope of the Student Emergency Relief Campaign has expanded to help alleviate financial hardships incurred during recent protests and governmental response, including food insecurity, transportation needs, and health care. The School is continuing to match donations to the Student Emergency Relief Fund, dollar for dollar, through June 30, 2020.
