Samford Young Alumni of Birmingham

This campaign ended on December 31, 2018, but you can still make a gift to Samford University by clicking here!

Have you been able to visit Samford’s campus recently? Visiting campus brings back many of our fondest memories. Many of our closest friends were made during our time as students, and to this day each of us stand by our decision to attend Samford University.

We are fortunate to have our Samford memories., and the world deserves those same types of experiences. Through our involvement with the Young Alumni Board of Birmingham, we have become increasingly aware of the many students who could not have gained the Samford education and the intimate access to the Samford community without scholarships. As a board this is a subject that has weighed upon our hearts, and we have decided to establish a scholarship to further expand the opportunity for more students to attend graduate school at Samford University.

Dr. Westmoreland often says, “We sit in the shade of trees we did not plant.” Now as young alumni, we have a great opportunity to honor those who planted a tree for us by planting one ourselves. We were blessed with so many opportunities during our time at Samford, and how amazing it would be to be a blessing to others. If each of us made a small monthly gift of $5-$25 a month, likely less than what we spend on coffee in a month, we would be able to award more students the opportunity to access Samford’s stellar graduate programs.

We know everyone is in a different place. Give the gift that works for your life today. Every gift is meaningful, and you will be pleased by how good it feels to contribute to something destined to have such a future impact!

Thank you for your support to this valuable scholarship and showing your commitment as a way to honor the generosity of those who planted trees for us and continuing their legacy.
