In Memory of Rev. Raymond J. Doherty, S.S.E. '51

Dear Saint Michael’s alumni, families, and friends,

Over the past two days, so many in our community have come together to support Saint Michael’s College in memory of Fr. Ray Doherty, S.S.E. ’51.

Fr. Ray was a mentor and guide to me, someone I could always approach for advice on a wide range of topics such as homily preparation, spiritual reading, or simply talk baseball. He was compassionate, kind, and an enthusiastic supporter of generations of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. He was a true Michaelman and a model religious priest who represented the values of the Edmundites and our College community.

We, the Society of Saint Edmund, have been truly touched by the generosity of our alumni, families, and friends for helping us to honor and remember Fr. Ray in this special way. Therefore, we have decided to give $100,000 as a matching gift initiative to extend this fundraising effort through December 31, 2021, in the hopes that you will join us in making a gift to support our students and programs.
