Help print the River of Words Anthology
River of Words® (ROW) is an environmental literacy program and key part of SMC’s Kalmanovitz School of Education, striving to meet the goals of education reform, environmental justice, and art activism. For twenty-five years, this program has been engaging students at the intersection of art, science, culture, and sustainability. We create curriculum materials for educators that explore this fundamental truth: we are all integral, contributing members of our ecosystem.
Every year, River of Words empowers student voices by hosting an international Youth Art and Poetry program on the theme of watersheds and publishes the anthology, River of Words: the Natural World as Viewed by Young People. All at no-cost to students and educators.
Our young people have a lot to say on how climate change is affecting their home, their communities. Help us publish ROW’s twenty-fifth anniversary anthology and to spread the message of a sustainable future around the world.
Help us share the ROW Anthology, a work that celebrates students from over 20 US states and 15 countries, with young people around the world. Gifts of any amount help. For $50 or more, we will mail you a copy of the anthology:
- $50 (One for You and One for Me) to purchase 1 copy of the 2020 ROW Anthology for yourself AND send 1 copy to a ROW finalist or winner
- $1,000 to cover the cost of mailing copies of the ROW anthology to all two hundred 2019-2020 young artists and poets who contributed!
If every parent, educator, and facilitator who participated in River of Words donated just $5, we’d meet our goal today. For those that cannot donate, we ask you to share our appeal on social media!
Every contribution counts.
