Ballet Folklorico Guadalupano’s mission is to preserve and showcase the splendor of Mexico’s traditional dance, music, dress and history. In addition we hope to cultivate and preserve our cultural heritage.
Founded in 2012, the group is open to all members of the Saint Mary's College community, and not that not everyone who is part of Ballet Folklorico Guadalupano is of Mexican descent. We have dancers of many different background and dancers who want to learn more about Latino culture so they make a conscious decision to join Ballet Folklorico Guadalupano to immerse themselves in the culture.
We have launched our first ever crowdfunding campaign to assist with two areas in which we need funding assistance. With a group of almost 35 dancers, our costume budget is super tight, and the traditional outfits worn in performance are very expensive.
Additionally, we attend an annual conference hosted by Danzantes Unidos that is held in different places in the state each year. Our crowdfunding campaign will also raise funds to help offset some of these conference and travel costs.
Support in any amount is greatly appreciated!
Muchísimas gracias,
