For the third year in a row, on March 12, at Saint Ignatius High School we are celebrating our Jesuit, Catholic heritage through our annual Giving Day. Our patron and founder of the Society of Jesus, St. Ignatius Loyola, was canonized by Pope Gregory XV on March 12, 1622. We recognize this day as an essential one in our history and celebrate our foundation with a unique day of philanthropic support to continue the mission of Saint Ignatius.
Last year we had 743 supporters make a gift in this 24-hour campaign and this year our hope this year is that 800 individuals will make a gift and show their support of our mission and our students.
This annual fundraising initiative ensures a world-class learning environment for our young men and helps offset operating expenses so the school can provide tuition assistance to families that otherwise would not be able to afford Saint Ignatius. All gifts received today will help support the Annual Fund campaign.

1725 days ago by Angela O'DonnellMr. Healey '77 first came across the abbreviation A.M.D.G. as he started freshman year at Saint Ignatius, and was instructed on the proper form to be used when heading his homework: A.M.D.G., name, date, period, and assignment title. The lesson of these four letters is a lesson that keeps on giving--as our school celebrates Giving Day on March 12.
"Today, so much of Saint Ignatius remains the same, and yet so much has changed – for the better. We were much less – to use a vogue term, and for that I apologize profusely – “intentional” than we are today. A.M.D.G. is a part of the air that our students breathe and the water (some might say, “Kool Aid”) that they drink. It would literally be impossible for a student to avoid those four letters for more than a few minutes as they make their way through a busy school day. Not only do they write it on their papers, but it is on their clothing, on posters, etched in glass, and even emblazoned on the floor. It, literally, defines us."
