What is Independence Day?
It's a 24-hour online giving campaign that rallies alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends to make a Rutgers Prep Fund gift in support of the RPS student experience.
Why October 23?
On this day in 1958 Rutgers Preparatory School resolved its last remaining tie with Rutgers University, leading Rutgers Prep to declare October 23rd as the School's Independence Day.
What is the impact of my gift?
Gifts to the Rutgers Prep Fund enhance opportunities for students to be inspired, challenged and involved. Annual gifts supplement the School's operating budget as tuition alone does not cover the cost of the Rutgers Prep educational experience.
What can I do?
๐ Make a gift of any amount: Every gift matters!
๐ค Offer a Match or Challenge: Make your gift and encourage others to give via a match or challenge. Consider designating your match or challenge for your class year, your child's class year, an area of support, or to a list of your friends (by email address) to raise the stakes.
โ๏ธ Become an advocate: You can amplify your support by encouraging others to join you on Independence Day. Start by clicking the "Advocates" tab above.
โถ๏ธ Tell your story: Once you become an advocate, you can upload a short selfie smartphone video. Share why you're making a gift today or what "being an Argonaut" means to you. Send a message of appreciation or support for your time at Rutgers Prep. Click on the "Create your personal plea" button in the Advocates tab to get started. We've got a special incentive for our Advocates who upload a personal plea and generate support.
๐ Share, Share, Share: The built-in sharing buttons above generate a link that is unique to you. Share via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Text Message, Email, Phone Call, Carrier Pigeon… The skyโs the limit!
If you share while you're logged in as an Advocate, we can track it and celebrate your impact with RPS swag (check out the incentives on this page)!
