Due to the current health crisis, the Rosalind Franklin University Dance for Diabetes (D4D) will be held virtually this year. D4D is the major annual fundraising event benefiting the Interprofessional Community Clinic (ICC).
Founded in 2013 by students from the Chicago Medical School as a way to serve the primary health care needs of the county's low-income population. The student-led clinic provides valuable clinical experience for students and interprofessional care for patients from the following degree programs:
- Medical
- Pharmacy
- Physical Therapy
- Physician Assistant
- Podiatry
- Psychology
Approximately 50% of the patients treated at the ICC have been diagnosed with diabetes or present with pre-diabetic symptoms.
Dance for Diabetes is a collaborative effort between the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and the university’s Interprofessional Clinic Initiative (ICI).
Every dollar raised supports patient care at the ICC including diagnostic testing, treatment, supplies for patients with diabetes and now COVID-19 testing.
