Did you know that we have a resource right on campus that helps students with any obstacles they experience on their academic journey?
At Rhode Island College, the Learning for Life (L4L) Center is an inclusive space where students are welcomed with open arms. Students are paired with peer mentors, called Navigators, who help them identify and problem solve issues related to their academic, social, and personal success. Students receive assistance with everything from addressing barriers to education as well as housing and food insecurities.
Last year the L4L Food for Thought Pantry supported RIC students in the following ways:
- 1812 lbs. of food was distributed to students this academic year
- 237 unduplicated students used the pantry 502 times
- 28 Thanksgiving baskets were distributed
- 45 Fuel 4 Finals bags were given out to provide nourishment for students during final exams
"I can safely say that without the food pantry I don't think
I would have been able to focus as much in my college career.
-quote from RIC student
