Disability Services’ Learning Evaluation Access Project (LEAP) provides psychoeducational testing for students who are experiencing educational barriers and cannot afford the high cost of testing in the community. When learning differences are identified, students become eligible for auxiliary aids and services that mitigate program barriers so they can make progress in their studies.
Disability Services has tracked quantitative measures of success and used qualitative approaches to understand the full impact these evaluations have on students’ lives. This tracking has shown that LEAP students have higher rates compared to the general PCC population, gain confidence from knowing oneself as a learner, and connect with a community of peers.
PCC has used Perkins funding to provide evaluations for students who intend to complete CTE degrees and certificates, BUT, funding does not cover GED, general studies or transfer students.
Please donate now to the Disability Services program fund to make evaluations available for PCC students! Thanks to the generosity of Wendy Palmer, Kaela Parks and the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund, the first $2,000 in gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
Join us as we work to raise $2,500 for the Disability Services’ Learning Evaluation Access Project (LEAP) on Big Give Day by giving a gift now! Be sure to encourage your friends to do the same by sharing Big Give Day on social media using the hashtag #PCCBigGiveDay.
Disability Services’ Learning Evaluation Access Project (LEAP) only needs $264 to meet its Big Give Day goal. Please take a moment to share a post on social media or send an email to your network.
