Congratulations Class of 2023! We’re in the final chapter of our Pitzer experience, and now it’s our turn to make a lasting impact on future Pitzer students.

From
spending time in the student garden, studying with friends on the Mounds, or
taking a Zoom meditation class, I’m sure we can all recall many
“that’s-so-Pitzer” moments over our college journey. These moments, large and
small, would not be possible without support from generous Pitzer community
members who believe in our growth as students and socially-minded human beings.
The Senior Class Gift Campaign is a special Pitzer tradition where graduating classes collectively give back to the places and people that made their Pitzer experience possible. Our class voted to highlight the First-Generation Program Fund for our Senior Class Gift Campaign.
First-Generation Program Fund: The First-Generation Programming Fund helps to support first-generation college students at Pitzer. This fund has played a role in establishing a physical space for FirstGen students and maintaining the FirstGen Student Mentoring Program.

"Ellen the Pig" Competition
Who is “Ellen the Pig”? Historically, Pitzer Seniors would compete in a Senior Class Gift competition among the other Claremont Colleges in hopes of achieving the highest Senior Participation!
The winning College is awarded “Ellen the Pig”, a coveted trophy that each school competes to bring to their campus. Since the Colleges have not held this competition in the past few years, the Colleges decided to bring it back!
“Ellen the Pig” History: The competition to capture Ellen the Pig started in 1995, when a student at Scripps wanted to increase participation rates for the annual campaign. She went to a local gift shop, purchased the pig, and named it Ellen in honor of the College’s founder, Ellen Browning Scripps. After mounting the pink figurine on a trophy base, the student challenged the other colleges to a contest that has focused not on dollar amounts but on encouraging higher numbers of donors.
Ellen is currently taking up residence at CMC, but rumor has it she plans to return to Pitzer this year. Let's make sure we bring Ellen back to her rightful home here at Pitzer!
LET’S REACH 100% GIVING PARTICIPATION TOGETHER!
Our goal is to reach 100% giving participation from our class by Friday, May 13, 2023. Gifts of just $1 or more to the First-Generation Program Fund or any Pitzer fund of your choice will count towards this goal and help to provide future Pitzer students with the same, if not better, opportunities we cherish.
Let’s celebrate our last moments together as a class by building a better Pitzer for generations to come. Please join us in donating to our Senior Class Gift Campaign today!
