Pitzer’s beauty lies in the powerful bond between those who study, work, and explore here—a bond that is forged by those committed to making purposeful change within, and beyond, our Pitzer community. Over the past year, we’ve seen firsthand how this community has come together to make a collective impact to build a stronger than ever Pitzer.
In honor of our founding year 1963, we are challenging 63 donors to make an impact through a gift to the Pitzer Fund, between now and June 30, 2022. The Pitzer Fund benefits students immediately by supporting the College’s highest priorities and most critical needs.
Many of us at Pitzer are feeling eager and excited about what the future holds. All year long we celebrated one another through meaningful community connections both virtually and in person.
Hear from Professor of Environmental Analysis, Susan Phillips, Senior Director of Facilities, Safety and Event Management, Mark Crawbuck, current student Kenric Jameison '23, and Associate Director of Constituent Engagement and Campus Partnerships and alumna, Jill Hawthorne '87 and how their bond with the Pitzer community inspires them to be a catalyst of change and impact:

“Pitzer is unique for so many reasons which have continually inspired me to work hard to support its ideals and possibilities. It’s a place with few bureaucratic constraints where you can leverage the power of our passionate students, faculty, and staff to engage in meaningful work, push the boundaries of the academic world, and fight for social justice and environmental sustainability.”
-Susan Phillips, Professor of Environmental Analysis

“I've been very fortunate to work for the past 27 years for a community I consider a part of my extended family. An institution of higher education with the core values that I believe in and support wholeheartedly. Being able to support our students, faculty and staff comes with great responsibility and is something I value tremendously.”
-Mark Crawbuck, Senior Director of Facilities, Safety and Event Management
