Hi! I'm Emma Kern, a Junior at Olivet Nazarene University! I'm currently studying Interior Design. This coming spring, the Shalom Project is organizing various ministry trips both in the country and internationally.
I have the incredible opportunity to travel to Inez Kentucky March 1-8 to support and learn from the community there! My team will be partnering with Appalachia Reach Out while we are there, their mission is to be Christ’s love in action through being His hands, His feet, His heart, and His mission each day, every day, in all we do. This is something I am personally passionate about and I am so grateful I get the opportunity to be that for the community there.
While we are there, my team will be partnering (through ARO) with churches, businesses, ministries, and individuals to carry out the love of Christ through the Great Commission in the community. While also assisting in tutoring/workshops in county schools, ministry/worship time at several local addiction recovery care centers, assistance with ARO thrift store, campus upkeep, community improvement projects, and possibly a tour of and education about the local prison systems.
While this is a huge and super exciting adventure, I will need help raising the funds to embark on it considering being a college student means money is pretty tight, so if you are willing, giving will be extremely appreciated! I would also appreciate prayers as I wonder if I am qualified to bring Glory to Him in this situation, every day I am reminding myself that God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. And in the end, this will all be for His Glory.
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” - Matthew 28:19-20
