Hi! I'm Kayla Trojan, a sophomore at Olivet Nazarene University! I'm currently studying elementary education and have a minor in children's ministry. I have loved both my education and ministry classes at Olivet. My education classes have taught me about the behind the scenes of a classroom and how we can serve children through schools. Through my ministry classes, I have come to see the classroom as simply another field of ministry where I can shine God's light to my students.
This coming spring, Shalom Project is organizing various ministry trips both in the country and internationally. I have the wonderful opportunity to travel to Honduras to support and learn from the community there. This will be my first missions trip out of the country! Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America with about 50% of its population living in poverty. My team is partnering with a local orphanage in Santa Barbara to help provide education, bible classes, meals, and mentoring to impoverished children in the town.
While this is a huge and exciting adventure, I will need help raising the funds to embark on it! If you are willing, I would greatly appreciate any size donation toward my trip. Most importantly, I ask for prayer for my team, our partner organization, and the community we are serving! My hope is that we could be God's hands and feet in Honduras, bringing His kingdom to this broken world.
