Hi! I'm Joline, a senior at Olivet Nazarene University! I'm currently studying nursing, and on the side, I lead a worship team at a ministry club on campus! Olivet has been such a wonderful and encouraging place for me to grow, and I am so blessed by my experiences at ONU. The Lord has blessed me with such a supportive and uplifting community of Jesus loving friends that I am so grateful for. The Lord has also blessed me with so many opportunities to serve Him, one including this mission trip that I am going on with Olivet!
This coming spring, Shalom Project is organizing various ministry trips both in the country and internationally. I have the AMAZING opportunity to travel to Honduras and work with children of the Garden of Love and Hope. The Garden is an economic orphanage that provides supplementary education, Bible classes, meals, mentoring, Godly examples of leadership, and love to support and sustain impoverished children in the beautiful mountain town of Santa Barbara. Our team will get the chance to help with business training at the new community center in the city. We also get to help run a VBS that will include music ministry, art ministry, sports ministry, and other creative ministries. While this is such an amazing opportunity, I will need help raising the funds to go! Thank you for your support and prayers as I commit to raising these funds. If you're willing, please donate here! I appreciate and am very thankful for the support!! I cannot wait to see how the Lord will work through this experience :)
Students travel to Honduras with our partnering organization Footsteps Missions to work with the children of the Garden of Love and Hope. The Garden is an economic orphanage that provides supplementary education, bible classes, meals, mentoring, Godly examples of leadership, and love to support and sustain impoverished children in the beautiful mountain town of Santa Barbara. Our team will help with additional skills and business training at the new community center that features a coffee shop, pizza cafe, and beauty salon. Physical labor may be needed to complete new properties now owned and managed by the Garden. They may also organize a VBS style camp, including music ministry, art ministry, and other creative ministries. Footsteps has also just completed a new Sports Ministry site that will be a great place to teach and interact with kids to learn basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and more. Students will have the opportunity to interact with children as well as encourage and support the staff.
