Hi! I’m Clara Haas, a sophomore at Olivet Nazarene university. I am currently a biology major studying to hopefully become a doctor. I'm involved in Orpheus choir which takes up a lot of my time. I feel like Olivet has helped me grow so much in my journey with God and I am so glad to be here. This coming spring, Shalom Project is organizing various ministry trips both in the country and internationally. I have the AMAZING opportunity to travel to Honduras to support and learn from the community there! This is a great opportunity to be immersed in a culture very different from America. My team will help with additional skills and business training at the new community center that features a coffee shop, pizza cafe, and beauty salon.
Physical labor may be needed to complete new properties now owned and managed by the Garden. They may also organize a VBS style camp, including music ministry, art ministry, and other creative ministries. Footsteps has also just completed a new Sports Ministry site that will be a great place to teach and interact with kids to learn basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and more. I'll also get to experience and explore Honduras further on our extra day. While this is a huge and exciting adventure, I will need help raising the funds to embark on it! Thank you for your support and prayers as I commit to raising these funds. If you're willing, please donate here! And thank you, thank you for all your support!! I can't wait to see how God works through this experience:)
Students travel to Honduras with our partnering organization Footsteps Missions to work with the children of the Garden of Love and Hope. The Garden is an economic orphanage that provides supplementary education, bible classes, meals, mentoring, Godly examples of leadership, and love to support and sustain impoverished children in the beautiful mountain town of Santa Barbara. Our team will help with additional skills and business training at the new community center that features a coffee shop, pizza cafe, and beauty salon. Students will have the opportunity to interact with children as well as encourage and support the staff.
