My name is Alauna Stults and I am a Junior at Olivet Nazarene University. My degree is in mechanical engineering, and I'll be honest it's been a difficult journey. Because of that I've been mostly focused on trying to get through my classes, but I kept on feeling like something was missing. This semester, either though pastors, professors or friends, a question kept popping up: What does God want to do with your life? How are you letting God serve people through you?
I felt God was laying something on my heart. I planned on going on the mission field later in life, but I wasn't sure how I could help anyone as a college student. Then my professor encouraged me to sign up for the Shalom Project Ministry Trips so I could experience mission work and other cultures firsthand. I was still pretty reluctant until a few of my friends who had been on the trips explained a bit more to me.
Now I'm signed up to go to the country of Ecuador for my spring break the upcoming semester, and I couldn't be more excited! On the trip we will be working in schools with elementary students to help serve them and their communities. This is going to be an amazing opportunity to minister to others but also let others minister to myself and everyone coming from Olivet!
With this wonderful experience, I'll need help raising funds to get there! If you're willing to donate, please do so here so the funds will go towards the trip. All support and prayers are appreciated deeply, I can't thank you enough! I know God will use this in mighty ways!
