Hello, my name is Ella, and I am a senior at Olivet Nazarene University! I'm currently studying and obtaining my degree in Biology and minors in Psychology and Chemistry. Alongside working to obtain my degree I am also the head equipment manager for the football team here at Olivet. (The same team my father played for when he was here at ONU). Being not only a student but a student manager at Olivet has allowed me the space and energy to grow so much over the last four years and I am truly blessed by my experiences and opportunities at ONU.
This coming spring, the Shalom Project is organizing various ministry trips both in the country and internationally. I have, for the first time, been able to commit to this AMAZING opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic to support and learn from the community there! I will be traveling alongside other Olivet students, and two amazing staff leads to the Dominican Republic (March 1-8).
My team will partner with GO Ministries to provide support to the communities within Santiago, DR. GO Ministries is a global missions organization with a mission to empower local leaders to make disciples as God redeems people, renews communities, and restores creation through Church Planting, Community Development, Medical, and Sports initiatives. During our trip, we will be participating in the construction efforts of the local community church along with working with local children and teachers in the community school system and aiding in the local clinic. The goal of our efforts and activities is to strengthen the local community church as members of those churches strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus within their community.
While this is a huge and exciting adventure, I will need help raising the funds to embark on it! Thank you for your support and prayers as I commit to raising these funds. If you're willing, please donate here! Thank you for all your continued support!! I can't wait to see how God works through this experience:)
