A Message from the Class of 2001 Reunion Committee

Can you believe it’s time for our 20th reunion? Homecoming weekend is September 24-26, 2021 and our reunion committee has a special weekend planned for the Class of 2001 to celebrate the bond that ties us together and to the Hill. In keeping with that tradition, our committee has set a goal to raise $150,000 and have 25% of the class participate in the effort. In honor of our 20th reunion, we are asking you to make giving back to Norwich a priority.

As you think of where you would like to make a financial impact, we encourage you to consider honoring the memory of Amy “Dunny” Veilleux, Mark Dooley and Brian Bill who are no longer with us, but have scholarships in their names to carry their legacies.

With the blessing and help of her husband, Ed, we are trying to endow a scholarship in Amy's name. Of the $150,000 we set out to raise, we hope that $50,000 will go to endow this scholarship to be awarded in perpetuity. We have already raised the first $20,000 so we have a good start.

Unlike Amy’s scholarship, Mark’s scholarship was endowed last year, which means it hit the $50,000 threshold and can be awarded to students. Right now it will help one or two students, but increased gifts will allow more students to afford Norwich.

Brian’s scholarship was created at our 10th reunion and now has over $1 million raised, thanks to a dedicated group of his family, classmates, and Connecticut-area alumni who organize an incredible fundraising golf tournament each year. His scholarship helps many students, including active duty special operators who earn their degrees online…but we can always help more!

Whether you honor Amy, Mark, Brian, or all three, we do hope you will find a way to join us in cementing the legacy of our classmates and helping our alma mater the way the alumni who came before us did. Can’t wait to see all of you back on the Hill!

Norwich Forever!
