Hub Initiatives Fund

This campaign ended on July 30, 2020, but you can still make a gift to Northwood School by clicking here!

In this time of crisis, the Innovation Hub at Northwood School has become the command center for several community outreach projects, including one created by junior Quy-An “Q” NguyenLe known as The Mask Hub. This initiative will provide tested and certified reusable 3-ply cloth masks to North Country residents and second-line essential workers: grocery store workers, food workers, and police personnel, and many others. Her goal is to minimize the competition that has formed between medical facilities and non-medical facilities over the already limited supply of disposable surgical masks, by providing the public with high-quality reusable protective cloth masks.

As part of her “Masks for All” campaign, Q is starting with a donation of 5,000 masks to the Village of Lake Placid to distribute to residents. Following further communication and discussion surrounding logistics and shipping dates, these masks will also be distributed to other regions of the North Country. The supply of masks to North Country residents will provide tested and certified protection versus hand-made and disposable options.

Once again, many have asked how they can help.

Join us in supporting Northwood School's Hub Initiatives Fund, a special component of the Northwood Fund. Your generosity will help fund meaningful projects like this one, and others that positively impact Northwood School, Lake Placid, and the greater Adirondack community during this ongoing challenge.
