Your contribution will be put to work right away, including the creation of two exciting new funds: the Wellbeing Fund and the School of Education, Leadership, and Public Service Scholarship.
Increasing the number of available scholarships is a key initiative and your support is helping us provide more students with the boost they need to keep moving forward. This Giving Tuesday, your generosity can create a meaningful impact for NMU students. A $20 gift to the NMU Food Pantry provides a week's worth of groceries for a student in need. A $100 donation to the Emerick Book Fund could be the key to a student accessing essential textbooks. And with the average financial barrier to graduation being just $277, your support could be the difference that helps a student cross the finish line and earn their degree. Every contribution, no matter the size, changes lives.
This Giving Tuesday, NMU alumni and friends come together to address student needs that impact their ability to stay in school and achieve their goals. Through the collective strength and support of the entire NMU community, we can overcome these challenges.

1. NMU Foundation Scholarship Fund
🎓 Goal: $10,000. Help us provide 10 additional students with $1,000 scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year. Your generosity will open doors for deserving students, giving them the financial boost they need to succeed!
2. NMU Student Flexible Aid Fund
💡 Goal: $10,000. Emergencies can strike at any time. Your gift ensures that no student will be forced to drop out due to an unexpected expense. Let's make sure every student can continue on their path to graduation in Spring 2025.
3. NMU Food Pantry
🍴 Goal: $5,000. Stock the pantry and provide 250 students with a full bag of groceries so that no student goes hungry as they focus on their studies.
4. Emerick Book Fund
📚 Goal: $10,000. Help students who are struggling to afford course materials! Your donation will ensure that students have the resources they need to succeed academically.
5. NMU Wellbeing Fund
❤️ Goal: $5,000. Launching on Giving Tuesday! Invest in our students' wellbeing across all eight dimensions— physical, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, financial, career, and environmental. This new fund will support comprehensive wellbeing programming at NMU, ensuring our students have the resources they need to thrive in 2025 and beyond.
6. School of Education, Leadership and Public Service Scholarship
🏫 Goal: $10,000. Help us offer future educators 10, $1,000 scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year. Your support of this scholarship will directly benefit our teacher candidates, who in turn, will make a difference in the lives of their students.
