Resiliency and Community at NCS and Treetops

In the midst of this global pandemic, the values of Camp and School remain more important than ever. We are deeply dedicated to our community and to persevering through this time of adversity.  

Our hands-on, place-based teaching and learning at NCS is happening online. Our teachers and students have met these challenging times with open minds, perseverance, humor, and grit. 

We don’t know what the near future holds for Camp Treetops. We are excited to celebrate our 100th summer, but that may not be a reality this year. We do know that the strength and resiliency of our extended community will lift us all when we need it most. We also know that Camp will thrive for many years to come.

We have always believed that the community we build extends beyond our 220-acre campus. Camp and School are a physical and spiritual home for so many. We are all working to create meaningful, relevant, and engaging opportunities to connect with each other.  

Now, more than ever, we need to stay connected, foster innovation, and practice resourcefulness and resilience. Here's how you can help: 

One of our greatest resources is the community support of our Annual Fund. Annual gifts of all amounts provide unrestricted, flexible funding to ensure that School and Camp can meet our most pressing needs. A donation of any amount helps ensure that we can continue to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the current situation and to plan, as best we can, for the future.

Share how you are caring for your NCS and Treetops friends or your community:

• Keep each other company during a Zoom happy hour or long phone call. Share a screenshot or selfie.
• Share artwork you or your kids have created inspired by NCS or CTT.
• Share words of encouragement for our students and campers.
• We know our alumni and families are doing great things in this difficult time. Tell us how you're helping your community--buying gift cards from local businesses, donating to or volunteering at frontline organizations, cheering for our healthcare workers, or helping neighbors.
