Earning a degree in engineering can be difficult, but thousands of NMSU students have succeeded in their journey to become engineers thanks to assistance through the Eloy Torrez Family Learning Communities. A generous gift made in 2017 by NMSU electrical engineering alum Eloy Torrez ’70 was the beginning of the nearly 8,000 square-foot renovated suite where students can receive tutoring from faculty and peer mentors in math, science, and core engineering courses on a drop-by basis, five days a week. Staff members identify at-risk students and offer assistance so they can stay on the path to success. Your gifts will keep this growing resource alive by ensuring the success of future engineering students.
