New Hampton School's Day of Giving

"I give because NHS understands that our children need a 24/7, real-time, hands-on community of adults who are willing and able to be teachers, coaches, leaders, role models, mentors, and friends and they do all of this with a commitment to demonstrating the values of honesty, fairness, inclusiveness, integrity. More than ever, our children need strong positive role models, so I give so that my sons will learn through real-life example how to build their lives with a strong commitment to community and shared values. When prospective parents ask me whether the NHS community is really that great, I always respond that, "It is the real deal, where they walk the walk."

"I give because I know that my two sons would still be getting a top notch education at NHS, even if the faculty, staff and students somehow ended up stranded on a desert island. The faculty and staff are deeply commitment to teaching and supporting students and building connections that endure even through quarantines, virtual class, and social distancing. The NHS students were the only virtual students I knew who worked hard and remained truly engaged with their classmates and teachers throughout the quarantine."

The faces may change, but the themes of community, friendship, and confidence remain the same.

"I give because it really matters to me that my children are back on campus and safe, because the NHS faculty and staff did the hard work over the summer to get it right. And they have continued to work hard but with a careful eye on helping their students and families deal with the stress and stay safely connected, because they understand that dealing with Covid-19 is still a marathon struggle with no finish line yet in sight."
