Starting college is such an exciting time of life, but it's also a transition – one that is a lot of fun, but it can also be quite overwhelming! Think back to a time you started a
new life adventure… it was exhilarating, but you also had questions about what would happen. How would you meet new people, learn more about your new responsibilities or get involved in your new town or campus?
Missouri State University’s class of 2021 will experience these same feelings when they arrive on campus in August 2017. You can help make their transition easier, and provide them an
opportunity to get to know Missouri State before they begin classes, by supporting the URSA Experience - Maroon & White Overnight - Missouri State’s extended orientation program that’s designed especially for new students interested in plugging in to the University quickly. Participants are able to:
- Learn the inside scoop about Missouri State, including MSU traditions;
- Connect with other new students and upper-class Ursa facilitators;
- Find the best ways to engage with the MSU community;
- Explore leadership opportunities;
- Discover what it means to Make Their Missouri STATEment and #BearUp.
According to Haley Swanigan, a 2016 Ursa participant, "URSA made me feel really at home at Missouri State, and helped me make a ton of friends! It also made me really excited to get involved at the school, and just really set me up for success for my time at MSU."
In its third year, 200 students (doubled from 2016) will have the chance to take part in this new Missouri State tradition. Your gift will ensure all students wanting to attend Ursa have the opportunity! You will have a lasting impact on our students, giving them a sense of identity, pride, and belonging as a Missouri State Bear – and this will help strengthen our
*In addition, MSU alumni that make a qualifying gift of $25 or more receive an Active Alumni Member card.
