The MSU Steel Bridge Team needs your help! The steel bridge competition is an intercollegiate challenge, sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). The competition requires civil engineering students to design and fabricate a 1:10 scale bridge made entirely from steel. The bridge is then loaded with over a ton of dead weight and scored in multiple categories against engineering schools across the nation. For two years in a row, we have placed in the top three at our regional competition against fifteen other teams, even with very limited resources and funding. We have done very well for the size of our program compared to universities with large engineering departments. The MSU Steel Bridge Team will participate in its third regional competition this April and with your help, we can top the leader board and advance to our first national level competition. Every dollar donated will help us to purchase materials and cover travel expenses to the competitions. Help us keep this hands on learning opportunity going so it can become a tradition and inspiration for the MSU engineering students of the future. Thank you for all your support!
