About

This May, the Missouri State University Chorale has the unique opportunity to professionally record an album with Grammy-award winning producer Blanton Alspaugh of SoundMirror, one of the leading recording companies in the world.

We’ll be recording this album while on tour in Troy, New York at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, home to some of the finest acoustics for choral singing in the country.

On the album will be Knut Nystedt’s Prayers of Kierkegaard, along with several new works for choir, some of which have have not yet been commercially recorded.

One of the major goals for this album is for the music to be commercially released by an international classical label. This would dramatically increase the reach of Missouri State University and the choral studies program.

The costs for this project include on-site recording, mixing, and mastering; catering, lodging and transportation; piano tuning, and the rental of the recording venue.

The total cost will be approximately $32,000. We have secured some outside funding, so we’re looking to raise $25,000 through this crowdfunding campaign.

As you may know, we’re also working hard to dramatically increase the MSU Choral Endowment, which will continue to benefit our current students -  and students for years to come. Through this campaign, you have the option to donate directly to this recording project - or to the choral endowment, meaning that your donation will grow exponentially over time.

-For all gifts of $300 or more, you’ll be listed in the acknowledgements on the jacket of the album.

Regardless of how you choose to give, we appreciate your support and commitment to the success of the students in the choral program.

Your gift of any size makes a difference.

Thank you for your gift to the Missouri State Choirs!

Go Bears!
