Our Middle School Debate program serves over 100 students in the Springfield area. Each participating school receives weekly, after-school coaching support from MSU Debate.
Five times a year, we invite all the students to campus for an after-school tournament. We try to use only judges with debate experience who can give students detailed feedback (and we are always seeking experienced judges who have graduated from high school).
After each tournament, we verbally recognize all undefeated teams and award sweepstakes trophies to the top 5 schools. These trophies cost $100/tournament (or $500/season), and we are hoping to crowdfund that cost, plus the other expenses associated with supporting the middle school debate program throughout the year.
Any additional funds received will be used for scholarships at our high school debate camp (Missouri State Debate Institute).
Incentives for this project are cumulative (for example: a $100 donor will receive the $100 incentive and all lower levels listed).
