We NEED to be there!
Where? In Chicago for the 29th Annual National Society of Minorities in
Hospitality (NSMH) Conference!
Students of the Missouri State University NSMH student-run organization are
eager to attend the national conference in February 2018! The conference offers
students access to educational workshops, networking, internship opportunities,
and panel discussions all focused on the hospitality industry, including restaurants and hotels.
The NSMH Goal is to "Educate in order to aid in the recruitment, retention,
support, and advancement of minority students in the hospitality industry."
Attending the conference will help us achieve our goals! If you have any questions, please contact Jokima Hiller at jokimahiller@missouristate.edu.
*In addition, MSU alumni who make a qualifying gift of $25 or more receive an Active Alumni Member card.

2507 days ago by Jokima HillerGreetings Hospitality Community –
Here is a Giving Challenge for YOU for our National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH) Crowdfunding Campaign:
Did you know that the word ATTITUDE equals 100%? Take a look:
A=1 because it is the 1st letter in the alphabet
T=20 because it is the 20th letter in the alphabet
T=20 because it is the 20th letter in the alphabet
I=9 because it is the 9th letter in the alphabet
T=20 because it is the 20th letter in the alphabet
U=21 because it is the 21st letter in the alphabet
D=4 because it is the 4th letter in the alphabet
E=5 because it is the 5th letter in the alphabet
If you add the numbers up, it equals 100!
In the Hospitality Industry, we must have a Positive Attitude 100% of the time – right? So, let’s turn our positive attitude into money. . .
I am challenging you to give the amounts above to equal $100 and at that time, I will match it by donating $100! So, in essence, I am looking for a total of 8 donors willing to give $1, $20, $20, $9, $20, $21, $4, and $5. That’s it! There’s my challenge.
Who in the Hospitality Community would like to get us started with a $1 donation representing the A in ATTITUDE?
Let’s do it!

On this past Saturday, October 21st, we held our first Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar on North Glenstone! A small stack of pancakes were only $5.
Our NSMH Vice President Mark Brown made the pancakes while our NSMH student members served the pancakes! Our customers tell us they had an enjoyable time with the pancakes, coffee, and juice as the highlight of their experience. There were Raffle Prizes too!
We are thinking about hosting another breakfast and we'll be sure to notify you if we do!
Thank you to ALL who came out to support us!
