Pop the College Bubble. Be Fully Present. Spread the Love. Missouri State's Immersion Programs allow students the opportunity to spend their breaks (spring, summer, fall) volunteering, immersed in the community. These experiences allow students to learn more about a community, immerse themselves in the culture and social issues that a community faces, and grow as a volunteer into an Active Citizen.
You will help our students live the public affairs mission and make a difference in the Atlanta community by making a gift! Your donation will be used for travel expenses, including food, lodging, etc. In addition donations will be used to offer extended service opportunities for Bear Breaks participants before and after their trip.
Support our #citizenbears as they travel to Atlanta during their spring break to learn and serve. Their trip is called Pieces of Poverty: Exploring Different Aspects in Atlanta. Students will serve with organizations working to meet the different needs of people living in poverty. Poverty is a complex issue that affects one in seven people in the U.S. During this trip, students will learn about the different aspects of the issue including food insecurity, access to education, and homelessness to better understand poverty as a whole. Their goal: to immerse themselves in the community and to bring their new perspectives to Springfield, MO.
Thank you in advance for your support! Donors can qualify for multiple incentives based on their total gift. For example, a $100 donor will receive all the incentives listed up to and including the $100 level.
*In addition, MSU alumni that make a qualifying gift of $25 or more receive an Active Alumni Member card.
