An Evening with Rare Books

This campaign ended on August 07, 2020, but you can still make a gift to Missouri State University by clicking here!

The MSU Libraries will not be able to hold the annual Rare Wine, Rare Books dinner this year, but we do invite our supporters to gather together for a Zoom event. Join us for An Evening with Rare Books on Friday, July 24, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Special Collections staff are pulling together some of the more interesting volumes we have added to the Rare Books collection in the past ten years. Miniature books, Mark Twain first editions, the works of local authors, and fore-edge painted books -- all have contributed to the goal of understanding the history of books and printing.

On Friday, July 24, we will begin the program at 7:00 p.m. and go until 8:00 p.m. Feel free to drop in whenever you have a chance.

In lieu of tickets, donations can be made to the Fraley Family Rare Books Endowment. It is through your support we are able to add books that meet the Missouri State University Libraries goal to document the history of the book, as well as care for the volumes already in Special Collections.

Please contact Anne Baker, Head of Special Collections, with any questions: or 417-836-5428.

*In addition, MSU alumni who make a qualifying gift of $50 or more receive a V.I.B.card - Very Important Bear.
