Support your alma mater and help current Misericordia students with a gift of $25 or more and you will receive a custom face mask. Our double-sided mask features two of Misericordia’s iconic symbols: the blue and gold Cougar, and our monumental Arch.

Many students and their families continue to face economic hardship due to the ongoing health crisis, and the University anticipates a 10-13% increase in undergraduate financial aid need. We need your support now more than ever.

You are more than a contributor – you are an integral part of our students’ success.

Questions or to make your gift by phone, contact: Lailani Augustine, Director of Alumni Relations & Annual Fund at 570-674-6248.

Nine years ago while living in Gambia, West Africa, first-year student Augustine Gomez, who is majoring in sports management did not foresee college as a possibility, or that he would be living in the United States. As the first in his family to attend college, “It is mind-blowing that I’m able to get an education far beyond what I expected, and I’m grateful for the scholarships I received because of alumni donors, without them I would not have been able to attend Misericordia.”

As a high-school student, Maddie Hunt, a junior majoring in occupational therapy regularly volunteered at the Children’s Hospital and that is where her passion for helping others flourished. Misericordia had everything she was looking for in a university, from the service opportunities to the close-knit community, in her heart she knew she was home. Maddie is a young adult inspired by community service, “Participating in service trips have been impactful experiences for me, they have helped me grow as an individual, bond with my classmates, and serve those in need.”

Thomas Weiskircher, a senior business administration major, with a concentration in marketing is no stranger to competition. He was one of 85 applicants who applied for Misericordia’s first-ever full-tuition scholarship during his college search. Each student participated in a competitive selection process that included: GPA requirements, an essay, a campus visit, and an extensive interview with members of the university community. Thomas was one of six recipients awarded the Sister Mary Glennon ’62 Scholarship in 2018. Our small campus community reminded him of his hometown with the ‘nicest and happiest people he’s ever met’ – Thomas knew he would continue his academic journey here at Misericordia, “I can’t imagine receiving my degree from anywhere else.”
