Women in Aviation - Who We Are

We are MSU Denver's Collegiate Chapter of Women in Aviation International. A group of diverse, hardworking, and goal-oriented students, we strive for equality and encouragement within the aviation industry. Our participation as a group plays a small part in an otherwise global effort to provide a supportive community to men and women pursuing a career in aviation or aeronautics. Volunteering, networking, and connecting with one another as well as future generations is a focal point of our purpose at MSU Denver. We recognize the importance of continuing education, collaborating with one another, and gaining the tools and skill-set to better secure career-oriented goals.

Your Support

The MSU Denver WAI Chapter has put countless hours into networking and fundraising so that we can offer our members tailored events, host established speaker series, and provide room for future chapter growth. We've seen a 500% increase in membership since our founding in 2019, and we attribute that success to that of our members! We believe it is important for our members to develop a character that reflects professionalism as well as humility, so we strive to offer well-rounded events that both encourage grace and philanthropy, ranging from our presence at MSU Denver’s careers symposium to our annual Honor the WASP Memorial Day flag placemen at Fort Logan National Cemetery.  In addition, two of our major expense-related events are the annual Girls in Aviation Day as well as the Women in Aviation International Annual Conference.

Girls in Aviation Day is an annual celebration of young women as much as it is a beacon of hope for their future. Through interactive workshops, informational activities, and relationship building, professionals come together to promote STEM education, specifically in the aviation, aeronautics, and space industries. Girls are shown that not only are they capable of pursuing their dreams in a male-dominated field, but there is also an entire army of women standing behind them. Our chapter would love nothing more than to be able to host one of these events in the future so we can build connections between our successors and instill the ideology that women truly can do anything.

Women in Aviation International is part of a movement of individuals to promote women in the aviation, aeronautical, and space industries. Their annual WAI Conference is a gathering of professionals, enthusiasts, students, employers, and innovators. This conference provides a unique opportunity for people to network, learn, and expand their horizons all within a meticulously planned, volunteer-based setting. Employers host seminars on employment offerings and expectations, renowned speakers give insight on how to improve personal confidence and leadership skills, and corporations give tours of facilities and equipment. Whether you are a pilot, an air traffic controller, or maybe just an airplane enthusiast, the WAI Conference holds a little something for everyone. For many people the annual WAI Conference is a place where dreams take flight, either for the first time or with renewed vigor.

Getting monetary support will help our group pay for such expenses as well as unforeseen costs involved with planning events and offering unique experiences within our community. Any funds received that surpass our goal will allow us to offer opportunities to help our students with books, supplies, and other career-related costs while building a financially mature foundation for the succession of our chapter as we continue during these turbulent times.

We are so grateful for any support you can give to us and thank you for your help in sharing this with friends and family so that we are able to better ourselves in our industry and share our passion with you and the MSU Denver Community. Come soar with us!
