Roadrunner Tuesday is a special time of year when Roadrunners come together to fight food insecurity at MSU Denver. This year, you can ensure no Roadrunner goes hungry when you make a gift to the Roadrunner Food Pantry during our annual 24-hour fundraising event.
Since the food pantry closed its doors in March due to the pandemic, the Student Care Center has fed over 500 hungry Roadrunners and their families - a 43% increase in need over the fall 2019 semester. Students who reach out to the food pantry for assistance can receive an electronic gift card to supplement their trips to the grocery store for food and toiletries.
To continue meeting the overwhelming demand for food assistance, we need your help! With your gift on #RoadrunnerTuesday, we are one step closer to raising the $6,000 necessary to reduce food insecurity at MSU Denver. Your support has never been more critical to the well-being of MSU Denver students than it is right now.
Fighting Food Insecurity
Even before the pandemic impacted the lives of many of the students in our community, the Roadrunner Food Pantry was a vital resource on the MSU Denver campus. In a University-wide survey from fall 2019, 44% of MSU Denver students reported they were food insecure in the previous 30 days. Whether that means students skip meals because they are low on funds or don't consume enough quality food, it’s difficult for them to succeed without access to nutritious meals.
Being a student is hard. It's even harder when you don't know where your next meal is coming from. Any gift, no matter the size, will impact the life of a Roadrunner during their time of need.
Elevate the impact of your support by sharing #RoadrunnerTuesday on your social media!
We are so grateful for the support of our Roadrunner family for #RoadrunnerTuesday! Thank you for making a difference in MSU Denver students' lives by providing food assistance to those who need it the most. Together, we will ensure no Roadrunner goes hungry.
