Revolutionizing health in Colorado by breaking barriers, empowering communities, fostering collaboration and embracing diversity. 

The Health Institute at MSU Denver is a one-of-a-kind initiative to re-imagine health education and meet the current demand for highly skilled health professionals. With 17,000+ undergraduates, the university enjoys the most diverse student body in Colorado. And, of the 5,600 students majoring in the 10 academic departments of the Health Institute, almost 50% are students of color.

Combining health related academics with real world, interdisciplinary experience, this collaboration will advance health equity in Colorado by diversifying the workforce and cultivating a whole-person approach to wellness. 

News from the Health Institute's Front Lines  
Amid a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic, MSU Denver faculty, staff, alumni and students served on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19.

• Members of the MSU Denver community used campus resources to 3D-print personal protective equipment and life-saving ventilator masks.
• Students conducted COVID-19 tests as nurses and lab technicians. Staff at the Auraria Health Center worked with state and local officials to keep the community safe.
• MSU Denver alumna Lt. Gen. Laura Richardson commanded the U.S. Army’s pandemic response, while countless alumni worked in health care in Colorado and beyond.
