MSU Denver College of Letters, Arts and Sciences
The MSU Denver College of Letters, Arts and Sciences provides essential, fundamental educational experiences for all students, while acknowledging and supporting their differing identities, circumstances, passions, career aspirations, and life goals.
Our College is the backbone of MSU Denver. As the University’s largest school, students can customize their path to success from a huge variety of subjects and certificate and/or degree programs. The College’s resources support teaching by encouraging the teacher/scholar model in faculty, and by offering high quality support staff and services which assist students in identifying and meeting their educational goals.

Gender Institute for Teaching and Advocacy - GITA's goals are to create space for oppressed groups to build community, organize for liberation, and engage in self-care. Further, GITA teaches critical analysis, communication, and organizing skills so that students feel empowered to work against the systems of oppression in their lives and communities.
College of Letters, Arts and Sciences Dean's Innovation Fund - Centered around student learning; hands-on experiences; interdisciplinary pursuits; and opportunities in research and creative activity, this fund will provide necessary resources to a variety of projects and initiatives within the College. The goal is to give students the skills they need to succeed in their academic pursuits and with their life goals. Whether it is working directly with faculty on campus or working with faculty in partnership with industry & community leaders, non-profit organizations, government agencies, or educational programs, students will benefit from the Fund’s investment in student-engaged experiences both in and outside the classroom. Fund expenditures should focus on student learning and research.
Summer STEM programs and Year-round STEM programs - The Smithsonian Science Education Center illustrates how important STEM skills and critical thinking will be to our world by highlighting the challenges we will face such as meeting increasing global demand for energy, successfully navigating global climate change, and understanding how to meet the food and water needs of a densely populated planet. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine recommend: "Higher education institutions should develop summer programs in mathematics, science, and engineering that include or target underrepresented minority middle and high school students. These programs should provide experiences that stimulate interest in these fields through study and hands-on research or projects and that develop a cadre of students who support each other in their interests.
Department of Music Recruitment Scholarships - The Department of Music seeks to educate and empower our students in the classroom, the practice room, and on stage. Our program strives to give students a wide diversity of experiences with a broad array of performing ensembles, including the symphony orchestra, symphonic band, choirs, jazz ensembles, chamber music, guitar and percussion ensembles, Mariachi, Balinese Gamelan, African Drumming and more. In order to sustain these ensembles and bring this opportunity to all students (majors and non-majors alike), the Department actively recruits new students to our program with an ensemble scholarship program. These scholarships not only support individual students participating in music ensembles, but they ensure that the ensembles are rich and full experiences for all students involved and for the broader community for whom these ensembles perform. Additionally, these ensembles help generate scholarship revenue as all ticket proceeds from all music events go directly towards additional student scholarships.
