For Such a Time as This

Thank you to all who donated and volunteered to make this Giving Day such a success! We raised over $140,000, well in excess of our original goal. 

We were blessed with gifts of all sizes and all from the full reach our our community: alumni, faculty, staff, (former faculty and staff), students, and the many friends who know understand the impact and importance of the seminary's work. 

Every gift mattered!

PhD student Immanuel Karunakaran, a member of LSTC's Antiracism Transformation Team, is offering his original artwork.

Immanuel unveiled his drawing last night during the online conversation with LSTC’s Antiracism Transformation Team.  

He created the piece during Holy Week in remembrance of Jesus Christ. It signifies the washing of feet on Maundy Thursday as well as the washing of hands by Pilate. And in Immanuel’s words, "for such a time as this we give on this Giving Day to serve people of God and God" For a gift of $50 or more now until 11:45, you will be entered into a drawing held today, at 12:15 p.m. 

Thank you to The Rev. Margaret R. Schoewe & Mr. Timothy R. Schoewe for supporting scholarships for students at LSTC. $2,500 added to the total raised for Giving Day!

And thank you to The Rev. Paul S. Bengtson & Mrs. Mary A. Bengtson for another gift of $2,500 for the seminary!

Now you may designate your gift to support scholarships for students of color, the Grover Wright Scholarship Fund and the Rev. Carole A. Burns Memorial Scholarship.

Or you may make a gift to the Albert "Pete" Pero Jr. Multicultural Center at LSTC. In January 2022, Dr. Linda E. Thomas will become director of the Pero Center. Donate in her honor or in memory of Drs. Pete and Cheryl Pero.

Two couples, Kurt and Jobey Hendel and Ken and Eloise Dale, have made lead gift commitments to Giving Day. These two donor couples are challenging everyone to give for Giving Day.
