Campaign for the Lincoln Choir

This campaign ended on June 30, 2019, but you can still make a gift to Lincoln College by clicking here!

The choir of Lincoln College holds a reputation as one of the finest mixed-voice chapel choirs at the University of Oxford. The Choir gives talented singers the opportunity to make music in a more intimate setting at a detailed and high level. During term time, the choir's modest commitment includes a weekly Sunday evensong and Wednesday evening rehearsal, with the occasional additional service for major church and college feast days. This allows the choir to pursue exciting concert and touring schedules outside of the busy university term time.

The Chapel Choir enjoys embarking on annual tours abroad and to Cathedrals around the UK.  Tours are an essential part of the choir calendar.  The build-up combines a good deal of hard work and excitement.  The choir works for months prior to a tour, preparing challenging repertoire for performances and services.  It is wonderful to see the choir gel both musically and socially whilst on tour and, having pushed themselves to new levels of attainment and professionalism, the high standard of music is brought back to Chapel for the College's benefit.  The rewards of our 2018 tour to Malta are still being reaped as we approach the new academic year.  As we look ahead to our 2019 tour to New York and Boston, we anticipate performing to College alumni in four concerts and look forward to collaborations with Harvard University and The Cathedral of All Saints, Albany.

The choir thrives on the adrenaline of performance and stands much to gain from singing with new choirs and experiencing worship in a setting outside Oxford.  Travelling to the US proves to be more expensive so we are raising funds to support our trip. This will ensure that every member of the Choir who would like to participate will be able to join the tour.

Thank you for your generous support. We hope to see you soon!
