The Lehigh University Rocketry Association (LURA) is a student-run organization composed of cross-disciplinary undergraduate and graduate students, united by a shared passion for rocketry. Our team designs, builds, and launches high-powered rockets for competitions — including the Spaceport America Cup, the world’s largest intercollegiate rocket engineering competition.
Our goals include:
- Providing opportunities for members to earn National Association of Rocketry (NAR) high-power certifications: Level 1, 2, and 3
- Designing, building, and launching our liquid-bipropellant rocket
- Developing a high-altitude, space-shot solid rocket to push the limits of student-led rocketry
- Competing in an international rocketry competition, representing Lehigh University Engineering on a global stage
With your support, we can acquire advanced materials, build complex propulsion systems, and ensure safe, reliable, and reusable launches. Gifts directly fund rocket components, certifications, testing, and competition travel — empowering our team to break new ground in collegiate rocketry.
