The Dr. Wayne Bethea and Terry Williams Kappa Alpha Psi Achievement Award Endowed Scholarship Fund
This fund was created to support the very community ideals and values Kappa Alpha Psi has demonstrated on Lehigh’s campus in the 38 years since Dr. Bethea ’91, ’94G ’01G and Mr. Williams ’89 founded the chapter. In their personal and professional lives, they have worked to build diverse, inclusive, and equitable spaces where people of all backgrounds belong.
Alongside Maurice Hallett ‘96 and Lou Brown ’02 – their chapter brothers and fellow lead donors – Dr. Bethea and Mr. Williams have established a fund to celebrate the legacy of Kappa Alpha Psi’s community ideals and inspire future generations of Lehigh students.
The fund will annually award one or more scholarships to a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) sophomore or upper-level student who displays on- and off-campus leadership; is committed to increase opportunities for underrepresented groups; and seeks to foster a diverse, inclusive, and equitable student body.
