Actuarial Science Center of Excellence

To strengthen our recruitment, LVC is pursuing the Society of Actuaries’ recognition to become a Center of Actuarial Excellence. There are only 16 American institutions currently on that list. LVC would be the only liberal arts college and the smallest by far, helping us to stand out and illustrating our program’s superior value. Program director Patrick Brewer is confident that receiving this CAE designation will both boost our enrollment and take our program to the next level.  

To keep LVC affordable for families, we look to alumni and friends to help finance this initiative. We started with a goal of securing an additional $250,000, in order to underwrite five years of salary and benefits for our new position, raise funds to support test-reimbursement for students, and to lessen the debt burden for students via the Dr. Bryan Hearsey Endowed Scholarship.  

Conrad Siegel and several of his LVC-affiliated partners generously kick-started this project by pledging a combined $135,500.
