About

This ONEHopkins, support the School of Education.

At SOE, we’re putting our priorities in action by advancing equity and social justice in our communities—locally and globally.

Please show your support for prioritizing issues of race, equity, and culture at SOE by making a gift today to the Dean’s Innovation Fund—and strengthening SOE as a powerhouse of change. Here are just a few examples of our recent efforts:

  • Assistant Professor Annette Anderson has taken a leading role in collaborating across the university to develop national and global education recovery trackers. Co-founder of the university’s eSchool+ Initiative, she has been sought out by CNN, the New York Times, and other media sources on issues of safely, equitably reopening schools in the COVID-19 era.
  • Odis Johnson, Jr., one of the university’s newest Bloomberg Distinguished Professors, is the inaugural director of our Johns Hopkins Center for Safe and Healthy Schools. His research on the interrelated topics of neighborhoods, social policy, and race—and his ideas on social change—have been featured in Oprah Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, and other outlets.
  • Assistant Professor Eric Rice has been working with faculty and students alike to strengthen the focus on equity in all of our academic degree programs. As chair of the Department of Counseling and Educational Studies and program liaison for the Urban Teachers program, he has seen firsthand how these issues are integrated into our curriculum.
  • Associate Dean for Faculty Development Norma Day-Vines created a model for facilitating conversations about race, culture, and equity. She also has organized our community discussions of Isabel Wilkerson’s book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, engaging more than 100 staff and faculty in constructive, in-depth, conversations about these difficult topics.

All of this important work contributes to our mission of delivering world-class research, academic programs, and services that address the constantly evolving needs of those we serve.

Your contribution will help us commit new resources to this work as it grows and evolves. And today only, we’ll send you a limited-edition JHU beach towel with your gift of $25 or more—as a token of our appreciation!*

Please join us today in renewing our commitment to advancing equity and social justice. ALL gifts make today will strengthen ONEHopkins!
