About

This Giving Tuesday, #GiveTueBerman!

On this global day of giving, join us in celebrating and supporting the educators and students who need it most. Make your gift through the Berman Institute of Bioethics and your gift will go even further in these especially challenging times.

The Berman Institute is striving to ensure that the international public health response to COVID-19 is ethically informed as well as effective. Through years of experience and scholarship, and tested through multiple threatened and actual epidemics, scholars at the Berman Institute have led research to identify the ethical principles that should guide the actions of governments and other institutions in a moment like this.

Our faculty and students have shifted their priorities to address the changing needs of the pandemic. In March and April, the Berman community built a framework for scarce resource planning that informed the Maryland State plan. As the pandemic continued, Berman’s faculty and students produced an ethical guide to digital contact tracing that continues to inform international standards. Today, with constant hope of a vaccine, our community has developed a framework for its ethical allocation and distribution.

The Berman Institute is committed to working tirelessly to respond to the changing needs of the COVID-19 pandemic, and to ensure that our response is both expeditious and ethical.

And, when you make a gift of $25 or more, you’ll receive a pair of cozy new socks as a thank you from us.*

This global day of giving comes at a time when we are striving to overcome global challenges. The world is looking to the Berman Institute of Bioethics. This Giving Tuesday, we look to you. #GiveTueBerman and make your impact today!

Thank you to all of our dedicated donors who generously donated our Giving Tuesday 2020 Challenge Gifts and Matching Gifts!
