AKPsi: Building Better Business Leaders

The Alpha Kappa Psi DeltaMu chapter is excited and hopeful that this fundraising campaign will help our organization achieve our goal of building better business leaders within the John Carroll community. We strive to reach these goals throughout the school year through social events, service events, and professional development events. The social events focus on building comradery and communication among brothers throughout the organization. The service events require members to connect with and make a positive impact on our community, through tutoring and volunteering in the greater Cleveland area. We encourage our members to do acts of service to help make an impact on those in our community who are less fortunate than us. The professional development events focus on preparing brothers for the workforce and the next step after graduation. Through the professional development events we bring in speakers to talk about the company they work for, provide insightful advice, and help navigate our members in finding a job after graduation. The funding we receive will be used for social and professional development events that we host throughout the semester. Socially we will further our growth together through the brotherhood retreat where we form teams and participate in team bonding and leadership activities. Most of the funding received will be allocated to professional development. We sponsor events on campus and also attend the Principled Business Leadership Institute (PBLI) National Convention sponsored by Alpha Kappa Psi. Our organization helps members develop important leadership skills that will prepare them for when they go out in the workforce. The professional development events that we host, provide the members with an abundance of opportunities and good life practices such as the proper business attire and the appropriate way to communicate to an employer and or coworkers. At these events, we provide our members with food and refreshments as well as give our speakers gifts in token of our appreciation. We will use the other professional development funding to offset the cost of attending the PBLI convention which is in Miami, Florida in February 2022. During the PBLI convention the money that we are hoping to receive will be used to help pay for hotel and travel fees. This is a great opportunity for brothers to get exposure to professionals in the industry that they hope to enter and further develop leadership skills.
