This yeary, with your help, William Smith Rowing is ready to smash our fundraising goals. Athletics Day of Donors has been going strong for five years now, each year blasting through the previous year’s record. So this year, it’s for all the marbles, and we are in it to win it!
William Smith Rowing needs your support in funding:
Training Trips $25,000: NCAA rules limit our team to 19 weeks of supervised training. One of the consequences of this rule has been that our team has missed out on the opportunity to realize the benefits of a January training camp in Florida. I am eliminating this omission in their experience as Heron rowers and need your help. I also want to minimize the financial impact of a winter and spring training camp on our athletes. The cost of our sport is often a roadblock to participation, and these trips are incredible opportunities that create skills and memories that last a lifetime. Your leadership in this effort is essential to helping our team realize its full potential.
Recruiting $15,000: The landscape of collegiate athletics, and women’s rowing specifically, is fiercely competitive. To build the future we all dream of for this team, we need the ability to research, identify and attract future Herons who will reinforce our culture, become some of our best friends for life, and who are hard-wired for achievement. Your support ensures our coaches have the resources required to build our team into the NCAA Champions we dream of becoming.
Student-Athlete Nutrition & Hydration $5,000: Performance and nutrition are inextricably linked. To enhance the daily performance and recovery of our Herons, we would like to provide our athletes with compliant supplementation and access to quick and easy food between sessions at the boathouse and during our training camps.
As always, your support is the backbone of our program's success. Without you, NONE of this would be possible! You help our athletes feel like champions every day!
P.S. If you have any difficulty making your gift, please contact Wendy Barnhart at (315) 781-3725 or barnhart@hws.edu, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST.
*To ensure accuracy, offline gifts will be counted after the close of the giving day. Note that the leaderboard may vary slightly from actual numbers because of this.

In the last hour of Athletics Day of Donors, there was so much traffic to the GiveCampus site that our faithful and generous Hobart and William Smith community crashed it! As a result, we have extended the Day of Donors by 2 hours. If you haven't already made your gift there is still time! The site will now shut down at 2:30 p.m.
