About

Members of the Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity have partnered with Hillsdale College leadership to build the Phi Sig Pavilion, an exciting outdoor activity hub designed to bring students, alumni, and visitors to campus together. Located across the street from Broadlawn, the Pavilion will serve as an all-College gathering place for fun, reflection, and learning, and will be capable of hosting a wide variety of events.

And we are off to a great start! As of January 2023, the College has raised nearly $200,000 of the approximately $600,000 project cost. The Phi Sig fraternity, whose members remain close with each other and active in the work of the College, donated not only the property, but more than $100,000 to the project collectively. In addition, the Class of 2022 chose the Pavilion as their Senior Class Gift contribution.

We are in the stretch run of the project, and we could use your help. Thanks to a generous gift of $215,000, including $15,000 from the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity, we are offering the Pavilion Challenge. The Challenge will match each gift dollar for dollar up to $200,000. The TKE alumni will name a pillar with their $15,000 gift and are challenging other Greek houses to do the same. The TKEs and Phi Sigs are challenging other Greek houses to join them in supporting this important project. Each fraternity and sorority who collectively give any amount above $15,000 toward the project will also be able to name a pillar. Independents are also included in the Challenge, and will be honored at the site.

Our hope is that you will consider making a gift to this incredibly special project that will provide a gathering place for alumni from all generations.

Thank you for your consideration, and please consider taking the Pavilion Challenge!
