About

One Hamline. One Community. One Day of Giving. The Power of One Hamline!

Power of One Day is Tuesday, November 15, and we, the Hamline University community, need to come together to support the greatest needs of Hamline students.

The goal is to raise $200,000 from 400 donors!

This year we have not 1, not 2, but 3 ways to multiply the impact of your gift! Tom Mayer ‘91 has again generously offered $50,000 in matching funds, and two other anonymous donors have each offered $25,000 in matching funds. That's $100,000 in matching funds!

  • The First $60,000 in One-Time Gifts Will be Matched 1:1!
    • As of 5:00 p.m. - We’ve had such a great response from one-time donors that we are shifting $20,000 from our Recurring Match to our One-Time Gift Match. That’s right, from now until the end of Power of One Day, one-time gifts will be matched dollar for dollar.
  • Recurring Gifts Trigger $500 in Matching Funds!
    • ($30,000 in matching funds available)
      • As of 5:00 p.m. - This match has been updated to $10,000.
  • First-Time Donors Matched 10:1!!! (up to $50)
    • ($10,000 in matching funds available)

Scroll down for more details on matching funds.

All matching funds support Hamline's greatest needs for students (Hamline University Unrestricted Fund).

Needs:
Power of One Day donations go to Hamline’s unrestricted and scholarship funds (listed below). These funds allow Hamline to deliver on the belief that an undergraduate degree will leave the next generation of students better off than the last. The independent think tank thirdway.org has awarded Hamline with a Tier I designation in social mobility (the creation of upward earning potential for graduates). Hamline is the only private institution in Minnesota, the Dakotas, Wisconsin, or northern Iowa to earn this designation.

It is not surprising then that, for the second year in a row, Hamline was ranked as the best regional university in Minnesota by U.S. News & World Report, and  #12 in the entire Midwest. And, the national publication Washington Monthly has ranked Hamline as the best Master’s university in Minnesota. The bottom line? Your generosity allows Hamline to graduate students that people want to employ.

Here are the unrestricted and scholarship funds you can support at Hamline this Power of One Day. These funds are powerful tools that allow each student access to ample financial aid, world-class faculty, and access to the resources they need to survive and thrive.

The following are six key areas where students need your support most:

1. Hamline University Unrestricted Fund (Area of Greatest Need)

2. Opportunity Scholarship Fund

3. College of Liberal Arts Unrestricted Fund

4. School of Business Unrestricted Fund

5. School of Education and Leadership Unrestricted Fund

6. Piper Athletic Association

When you make a gift to one of Hamline’s unrestricted funds your dollars are put to work immediately.

Pipers have the drive to succeed, and your support makes it possible. Thank you for giving on this power of One Day!
