About

Samuel and Natalie Babbitt Kirkland College Scholarship

Dedicated advocates for women’s education, Kirkland President Samuel Babbitt and his late wife, author Natalie Babbitt, made history. Together with the 1,407 women who matriculated at Kirkland College, they shaped and promoted the vision of a progressive institution that fostered independence, creativity, and leadership in its students and graduates. In 2019, to celebrate the Babbitts’ - and Kirkland’s – impact on their lives, a group of Kirkland alumnae and like-minded friends established a scholarship fund in the Babbitts’ names at Hamilton College. We invite you to join them in honoring Sam, memorializing Natalie, and ensuring that the Kirkland legacy endures.
